Almost there, just need to add spray and reflections really ... now we can get different people doing different spray effects, which is the hardest part to get right

The heat haze is a bit too small, and you can see where it ends, try and blend it out (duplicate the pic before the heat haze, apply the filter, and use a layer mask to blend it ... if you get that :tilt, the rest is v.good :thumb3d:

Quote from Tweaker :As far as I know, Ian.H from dSRC LFS team has made an LFS mod for rFactor. This could very well be from his mod. There is a dS autos skin in that zip somewhere too. This could be his conversion... but I think he only did the XRT.

I'm pretty sure Ian's put it on hold ... or cancelled it. He started doing the FXR aswell

and he probably would've done a better job

Try changing (lowering) the sound latency in the options ... i have it about 60 (i think) but if ya go too low it will occasionally cut out. Gear changes need to be made at the right RPM and you have to get off the gas enough, you'll get used to it eventually

Yes there are tyres such as the ones at the chicanes on FE that should be kept, but there are pointless ones ... this has already been said ... just look at the pics, there are more but i dont need to show all of them, and this is just Fern Bay, Westfield also has quite a few. These are corners that arent exactly possible to cut, so is there a need for the tyres

The third picture, this is on a straight, but often people run wide from the chicane and bring the tyres onto the track ...

Tyre "barriers" are they needed?

Do we still need all the free standing tyres on the tracks? Some of them are useful such as on the FE chicane, but the straight and sweeping corners after that (FE black and gold) dont really need tyres, there's no way of cutting the corners successfuly, and then when someone spins and hits the tyres, the tyres end up on the track and cause more accidents.

In some of the slower cars you can normally get out of the way. But with any high speed car, especially the BF1 the tyre barriers dont help ...

I leave my DFP set to 900, 0 compensation in game and then i turn the wheel the same as "in game me" and i dont have to go changing the DFP setting when i change car. The only downside is there is nothing stopping you turning the wheel more than is possible in game, but a) you hardly ever use full lock and b) you can see when you have turned the maximum lock because in game he stops turning the wheel.

Just makes it easier to set the wheel to 1 thing and then forget about it.

BTW ... does anyone else have a problem some times where you set the wheel up in wingman for a game, load the game up and find out the wheel is still on 900 or default settings (not wingman). I dont have the problem with LFS because the wheel doesnt need to change the rotation, but with rF, or nkp etc i use about 400 degrees and some times it doesnt change, so you have to quit load it again and it normaly fixes itself

Clownpaint is making a lot of sense. People were moaning and complaing about how it handles within 30mins of having it. Which is just rediculous. I would love to see the lap times thoughs guys were doing. The default set ups have a tendancy to keep the car very safe and easy to drive, but not very fast at all.

Imagine if you got the opportunity to drive an F1 car. Most people could probably drive it (especially modern F1 with TC, and all the down force and aero grip etc), but i bet they would be no where near the pace of the pros, even with half hour practice  I dont want to compare nKp to LFS, because i think LFS is great, but if you got someone who had never played the game before, gave 'em the FO8 and an "easy" set up, even if they were driving really slow i'd still bet they end up spinning because of the lack of grip (which is being fixed i know ... bla bla bla)

Most people seem to have given up on nKp too early, considering it is a game that seemingly gets better the more you play it, understand it, and push the car to the limit. If i was to drive around in LFS going slow i would probably get bored and not like it ... just give it a chance.

Anyone here who bought the game, but doesnt like it ... post some lap times or even better ... replays, would be interesting to see if you've even attempted to get used to the game.

Quote from avih :it feels and looks very similar to namie 0.99. lack of polish with better graphics and colors doesn't make it polished.

I liked namie for the different "feel" it has, it's good driving experience, but i don't see any reason to shell money on this. namie has so many tracks, with a bit lesser graphics. but it's namie.

well overhyped imo.

ps,
and why the heck do i have to spend more than 5s to find out how to get out on the track???

In real life, you have to know how to start the car, it doesnt just start by magic. So in this game, which is trying to be realistic, you have to learn to start the car ... Apparently people here like realistic games, but still like it "arcade" enough for the magical engine to start itself illepall

Without these features (learning to start the car, flat spotting tyres and having to change them otherwise they're still flat spotted, pitboards, having to wait for repairs etc) this would be just another game ... at least they arent afraid to try new things

Not really sure how to fix it though, maybe cut 'em out and take another pic from higher up so you can see whats on the other side, and merge it together ?

I've been using the DFP for almost a year now. The first week took some getting used to, but after that i havent looked back.

I have left the rotation on 900 and to be honest, it doesnt matter what car your in, when you are at racing speeds you dont need to turn the wheel as much as everyone says. In hairpins and slow speed corners you will need to turn it more (only turning it enough to cross your arms normally, no need to take your hands off), and overall it is more precise, which probably helps a lot with the single seaters.

Catching slides will seem harder at first, but once you get the hang of it you just do it without realising. Rally X is a lot of fun, and you will need to throw on lots of opposite lock sometimes but again, you get used to it and when you get the hang of it you'll end up faster ... and having more fun :boing:
